Wendell is also the best-selling author of Deadly Spin: An Insurance Company Insider Speaks Out on How Corporate PR Is Killing Health Care and Deceiving Americans and has also testified to congress revealing the “back room” behavior of major health insurance carriers and how their real motives hurt employers and puts employees and their families in danger.
We teamed up together during the “Don’t Feed the Beast” symposium in Milwaukee put on by Matt Ohrt, author and co-founder of Self-Fund Health to speak about the duplicity of status quo health carriers who spend millions in advertising and promotion to establish their caring support for their customers while employing business policies that are driven by profit over people. We discuss how their real motives and behaviors – viewing both from the C-Suite and the “Street” levels – are hidden from the customers. But as the behemoth health carriers become more exposed, you can begin to hear them say “Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!”
